Sewing Factory

Rev engine
Avert eyes
Watch fingers
Drone songs
Carried on
Threaded needles
Under pressure
Fix machines
Screaming out “Roberta!”

Stops cost
Peppermint pains
Shoulders and backs
Bundle the day
Flipping
Turning
Tossing
Ripping
Working
Faster
Minutes catch the hours.

The day
at last
is sold.
Like children freed
Grin. Stampede.
Sew sheets to pillow
Wake confused
Listen

Cows are headed for slaughter.

    1. I can’t imagine it. I worked in a sewing factory in Texas. I got off light. Made me look at every piece of my clothing differently. But in for the short term, it was probably one of the most informative experiences of my life, its benefits only available for those without a safety net.
